Red Cherry Riverbed Rodeo National Enduro - Qolora Mouth Wild Coast - 10 March 2012

The 1st leg of the 2012 National Enduro is moving to unchartered territory with the magnificent Wild Coast being the home for this Rover event. Who better to sponsor and organise this event than Red Cherry who have been operating along this magnificent Wild Coast for over 20 years.

The Red Cherry Riverbed Rodeo is set to start at Qolora Mouth on the southern Wild Coast , a stones throw away from the mighty Kei River.The Start village on the Qolora Runway with the Trenneries and Seagulls Hotels being our hosts is guaranteed to blow even the most intrepid off roader away. The entire community has got involved with local headmen , chiefs , community leaders all putting their weight behind this event

The route will see us exploring the mighty Kei gorge , the Qolora riverbed and the magnificent Kobonqaba.The single track and short technical sections will not only challenge the riders but also have them going ... WOW!!!!

Accommodation is limited at the 2 hotels as we only have 180 beds in total and all booking enquiries be it hotel or camping need to be made via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. For those that miss out on a bed we have secured the entire airfield and will be building a massive hospitality village with showers , toilets and plenty of grub. Camping will be the order of the day.

Touch Africa , Red Cherry's charity will be working hard at bringing in sponsors to build a new soccer field for the children and staging the 1st ever Wild Coast Soccer tournament and positioning the bikers as the "good guys"

Rover Statement Regarding MSA/WOMZA

The various committees of the three separate Rover Clubs – Rover Main, Rover MX and Rover Enduro have met and deliberated in the interests of members and the following decisions have been made.

1. Overall

None of the three Rover Clubs wish to become embroiled in the legal debate that is ongoing between Motorsport South Africa and WOMZA. The Rover committees are elected representatives of the three clubs’ members and as such, are duty-bound to effect decisions that reflect the sentiments and wishes of the respective members.

Vision for 2012

Rover starts 2012, with some huge challenges and decisions regarding MSA and WOMZA, which will affect us all in some way or another.

While Rover is a tenacious club, and will prevail under the circumstances, we need to ensure our decisions, take is into the future, and into a better place, also ensuring the competitiveness for our up and coming riders, as well as the other champions we have. In essence, we need calm heads to prevail, and we will make the right decisions.

Rover will launch into 2012, with some great projects in the pipeline, and some which are already firing on all cylinders.

Enduro & Offroad - 2011 Feedback

Rover is very much alive and very well . Since being elected in late April by the members , the committee has done a fantastic job and we have generated 10 times more profit in 2011 than we did for the four equivalent events in 2010 . Our bank balance is well over R100 000 and our initial target of R125K by year end is within our grasp.
